There is one tree in bloom this time of year that is really beautiful: the jacaranda tree, with purple blossoms, the kind of colour you would find in a crayon box. The foliage is tiny compound leaves, but right now almost all you see are the flowers. Some of the trees in Sydney are losing the flowers, and we saw a few front lawns that were a blanket of purple - not a bit of grass showing. There are a few down in Batemans Bay, here's a sample:
