Beach Day

With so little time left for us here in Australia, we have to take advantage of going to the beach while we can. John got home from work today just after 4 o'clock, hot from the bike ride, and we headed out to one of the beaches near us. Long Beach is just north up the highway a bit and out towards the coast a few kilometres. The weather here now is just beautiful; summer officially started yesterday (yes, David, on the first of the month, not the equinox like at home - see a previous post.) We kept saying to each other, "it's December!" Just like when we arrived when we kept saying, "it's January!", because the weather back at home in Ontario is getting, well, wintery, with severe weather warnings, and just cold and snowy forecasts appearing on the Environment Canada website that pops up for us everytime we connect to the internet http://text.weatheroffice.gc.ca/forecast/city_e.html?on-133 (we do think about you all, every day, when we see the Ontario forecast!)

We didn't spend long at the beach, just John went in for a swim, but it was nice just sitting on the sand in the sun with a good book.
